A laundry service Falls Church VA customers book by the pound charges about $23 to $28 for one home-washer load — roughly 12 to 15 pounds — washed, dried and folded at WashPro’s $1.89 rate. The trouble is that nobody charges per load. Every laundry service prices by weight, and a “load” means something different depending on the machine you picture. This post does the translation for Falls Church, Seven Corners, Bailey’s Crossroads and Lake Barcroft.
What a “load” weighs: 3 sizes
- Small — apartment-size stacked washer (common in Seven Corners and Bailey’s Crossroads apartments): 8 to 10 lb
- Standard — full-size home washer (Falls Church City and Lake Barcroft houses): 12 to 15 lb
- Large — large-capacity front loader or laundromat machine: 18 to 20 lb
- Laundromat big machine: 40 to 60 lb
When most people booking a laundry service Falls Church offers say “a load,” they mean the standard one: 12 to 15 pounds. A week for one person is about one load. A couple is two. A family of four is three or four.
Cost per load with a laundry service Falls Church VA, by method
For a standard 13-pound load:
- Do it yourself at a laundromat: $4 to $6 wash, $3 to $5 dry, $1 detergent. About $9 to $12, plus about 90 minutes of your time and the trip down Route 7 or Route 29.
- Laundromat wash-and-fold counter: $1.50 to $2.50/lb, so $20 to $33. Many have a 10 to 15 lb minimum, so one load usually clears it. Two trips.
- Pickup and delivery (WashPro): $1.89/lb, so $24.57. But the $35 minimum applies, so a single load on its own bills at $35. Two loads (26 lb, $49.14) is where per-load pricing lines up with what you pay.
- App-based services: typically $2 to $3/lb plus fees, so $26 to $40 per load before the minimum or delivery fee.
The per-load math that actually matters
Because of minimums, the cheapest per-load price from any laundry service Falls Church VA offers comes from sending more loads at once. At WashPro:
- 1 load (13 lb): $35 minimum, so $35 per load
- 2 loads (26 lb): $49.14, so $24.57 per load
- 3 loads (39 lb): $73.71, so $24.57 per load
Once you’re over the minimum, the laundry service Falls Church per-load cost is flat. There’s no volume discount and no volume penalty — just $1.89 a pound. That’s why a single person in a Seven Corners studio does better sending every two weeks than every week.
Loads that don’t follow the rule
- A load of towels sent to any laundry service Falls Church weighs more than a load of shirts. Eight bath towels is 10 to 12 lb on its own.
- Bedding is priced per piece, not by weight, because bulk is the cost: comforters $19.99, blankets $14.99, pillows $6.99. A “load” of bedding is usually one comforter and a sheet set — $19.99 plus about $7.
- Kids’ clothes are light. A full basket of toddler laundry can be 6 pounds.
- Winter loads — hoodies, jeans, flannel — run 30 to 40 percent heavier than summer loads of the same volume. The American Cleaning Institute has guidance on not overloading home machines with them.
What’s included with WashPro’s laundry service Falls Church VA
The $1.89 rate covers detergent, softener, washing your order on its own (never combined with another customer’s), folding, tagging, and pickup and delivery to your door, 6 AM to 7 PM daily. Next-day return is standard; same-day is $2.79/lb if booked by 10 AM. You don’t need to be home — leave the bag at the door and it comes back to the same spot with a text at pickup and delivery.
Quick reference
If you just want a number to plan around: about $25 per standard load, washed, dried, folded, picked up and delivered, as long as you’re sending two or more loads at a time. That’s what a laundry service Falls Church VA households use weekly actually costs.
Not sure how many loads you have? Estimate it with the cost calculator, see the Falls Church laundry service page, or schedule a laundry service Falls Church VA pickup — we weigh it dry, and you pay for exactly what’s in the bag.
